I May Not be Agile, But I’m Interested! Yoga Works.

I am an avid Yoga-doer. I might not be the most flexible person and able to do elaborate poses and stretches and I may not have the most stamina and be able to partake in lengthy workouts but… I massively enjoy yoga and try and do at least a small bit every day. I find […]

A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath

Often, a soft answer will melt hostility!

If it’s possible, as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men. (see Romans 12:18)

Not just those in your household, your family, or your friends, but with all people, everywhere.

Hostility breeds hostility. But if you encounter someone who is hostile, an act of love will diffuse the hostility in them, which is probably not intended toward you in the first place.

(I have found that sometimes a person will act like they are angry with you, when, in reality, they are angry about a situation.)

Try this: Trade places.

Put yourself in that person’s place and try to feel what they are feeling. Show them you care, at the risk of having your feelings bruised! Many times, you’ll survive the “bruise.” And often, they will turn into a softer spirit!

If trading places works, the sense of accomplishment, alone, will make your day!

5 Rules for Success

One thing we all want is —  Success.

Wishing, hoping, and trying …It all pays off when “Success” is looming! But how does a wish & a prayer become a Reality?

Success has rules. If that is something you wish for, the Rules have to be followed before the Reality becomes part of your life:

  1. Treat your business like a business.

There’s no point to wishing & hoping for something, if you’re not willing to do the work. Commit to investing time, energy, thought, planning and yes, Cash, into your endeavor. The more you invest, the quicker you’ll realize Success!

2. Have a Plan.

This should be in writing…something you can read every day. Your plan should be realistic. Start with a long-term plan, then break it down into smaller, “doable,” daily activities…Short-term plans…that will get you where you want to be in the “Long-term.”

the Path to Success
If Success is something you wish for, follow the Rules.

3. Focus.

There are lots of distractions in life. Working from home can be especially challenging, when there are children to care for, chores to complete, & just plain, old, entertainment enticing you! Don’t get off-course. Devote a block of time for completing your Daily “To-Do” List, and stick with The Plan!

4. Think Positive.

Don’t be a negative thinker. Don’t entertain negative conversation. When things don’t work out, search for the positive side…Remember, there is Always another side!

It’s raining, but someone needs water!

5. Don’t Quit.

Many obstacles stand in the way of Success. Overcome, one at a time. Never give up!

Achieve the Results You Desire

The first thing to remember when you are working on achieving desirable results in any endeavor, is to believe in yourself. Believe in your goals.

There is a Scripture in the Holy Bible that says, “Delight yourself …in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) To me, that means, if I simply find delight in the ways of the Lord, (doing what’s right as best and as much as I can), then nothing will be impossible for me to achieve. Believing in that Truth takes faith and a never-dying Hope in all things.

I still remember loosing all my earthly possessions in a flood, as a direct result of Hurricane Katrina. But now, 10 years later, all those earthly possessions have been replaced with more, newer earthly possessions. And what of matters of the heart? I miss the loved-ones that perished, but they are still with me somehow. My loved-ones that survived are dearer to me than ever!

Never give up your dream. Keep working on it a little every day of your life, and one day of your life, you will See it,  and Live It. This is a Law of Life.
